Configure Roles
The Role Configuration is automatically generated based on unique combinations of the selected owner columns. For example, if you select "department" and "title", the role might be: "engineering-senior_engineer". These columns are displayed and selectable. The Policy Threshold setting can be adjusted.
The Auto-Analyze on Create switch, allows for admins to run policy role evaluations. The Roles Statistics provide an immediate overview of the reach of that role configuration, by showing:
- Total Roles, where the number reflects unique role combination.
- Totla Owners, where the number represents how many owners are assigned to those total roles.
- Average Owners per Role, where the number represents the onwer distribution cross those total roles.
- Size Range, where the range shows the min and max values for owners in those total roles.
To setup or adjust the role configuration, navigate to Settings and select the Role Configuration tab. For any changes to take effect, click Save Settings. Use Regenerate Roles after making changes.
